Job Summary
The Sr. Manager, Data Architecture at Amgen will lead the design, development, and implementation of the company's data architecture strategy, ensuring data accessibility, reliability, and security for business operations and analytics. Responsibilities include managing a team of data architects, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and providing thought leadership in data architecture, data modeling, security, and governance. The role requires a strong background in designing scalable and high-performance data architectures aligned with AI solutions, and experience in the pharmaceutical domain is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience
- OR Master’s degree and 8 to 10 years of Information Systems experience
- OR Bachelor’s degree and 10 to 14 years of Information Systems experience
- OR Diploma and 14 to 18 years of Information Systems experience
- 4 years of managerial experience directly managing people
- Relevant experience in Pharma
- 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing data architectures and data engineering
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing and mentoring data architecture teams
- Proven expertise in data architectures design for large organizations
- Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance standards
- Experience managing multi-functional teams and enterprise-wide data initiatives
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in cloud data architectures (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
- Experience with machine learning and AI-driven data architectures
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience working with agile development methodologies such as Scaled Agile
