Sr Manager, Compensation

Job Summary

Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing administration of compensation programs, including base pay structures, short- and long-term incentive plans, and job leveling frameworks. Partner with HR business partners and business leaders to evaluate and price new and existing positions, ensuring internal equity and external market competitiveness. Manage annual compensation cycles, including merit increases, promotions, and bonus calculations, while ensuring all pay decisions comply with federal, state, and local wage and hour, pay equity, and FLSA regulations. Advise and train HR and people leaders on compensation philosophy, policies, and pay practices, and mentor compensation analysts to oversee workflow and deliverables. Develop and maintain job descriptions, job codes, and FLSA classifications in partnership with HR business partners and legal.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive compensation experience
  • 2+ years in a leadership or managerial capacity
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles
  • Strong knowledge of job evaluation methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of market pricing practices
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent quantitative skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to influence and advise senior leaders
  • Knowledge of federal wage and hour laws
  • Knowledge of state wage and hour laws
  • Knowledge of pay equity regulations
  • Knowledge of FLSA classification standards
  • Ability to build and manage strong stakeholder relationships across HR, Finance, and business leadership
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills
  • Experience with compensation survey and benchmarking tools
  • Experience with HRIS platforms
  • Experience with compensation management platforms
  • Experience designing incentive, bonus, or sales compensation programs
  • Rare or occasional travel
  • Ability to work in an office or remote work environment
  • Ability to perform remotely anywhere within the United States except the state of Alaska
