Sr. Manager, Commercial Manufacturing Engineering

Job Summary

Lead client commercial technology transfer activities and oversee the compliant operation of packaging, serialization, and related assembly equipment. Own technology transfers from initial kick-off meetings through turnover to commercial operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and revenue deliverables. Manage engineering projects focused on design, optimization, and continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase throughput. Drive cost-saving initiatives through Practical Process Improvement (PPI) and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Uphold Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards while serving as the technical subject matter expert during compliance audits, client visits, and facility tours. Mentor and develop engineering team members through goal setting, coaching, and professional development initiatives. Partner with Sales on RFIs and RFPs for new projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in an engineering discipline, or related field
  • 5 years of food or pharmaceutical packaging experience OR Six (6) years of industrial engineering or related experience
  • 3 years of Supervisory Experience of managing personnel
  • Proficient in leading and managing multiple project engineering driven assignments from start to finish with sound project management methodologies
  • Must be results oriented
  • Must have a high attention to detail
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal to communicate with both internal and external clients
  • Ability to train employees
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong analytical skills
  • Must be able to multitask and respond to shifting priorities
  • Must be able to author and interpret technical documentation
  • Must provide direction to team and external department related functions and activities
  • Must have a baseline level of mechanical aptitude established by testing
  • Must be proficient with computer software (MS Office) and have expertise with spreadsheets
  • Must have prior mechanical and process equipment experience
  • Mastery of skills required to read, understand, and adhere to the SOPs and policies of a GMP environment
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and perform tasks consistent with site safety requirements
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including cleanroom and warehouse areas

Desired Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Certification or experience in Lean Manufacturing or Process Improvement Methodology
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related discipline
