Job Summary
Sr Manager, Capital Projects & Turnaround responsible for managing all phases of refinery turnarounds, planning, scheduling, execution and closeout of expense projects and shutdowns. Leads turnaround teams, TA Steering and core teams; develops and maintains turnaround schedules and budgets; coordinates site integration of operations, projects and maintenance; controls cost and timing to meet business needs; defines work scope and freezes; estimates and adjusts TA costs; ensures adherence to procedures, standards, and policies; requires walking job sites, PPE use, and potential climbs. Requires 2+ years management experience, 4+ years in a related field, and knowledge of industrial engineering, safety, IHS standards, and experience with major turnarounds and shutdowns. Strong competencies in change agility, collaboration, decision making, drive for results, and team building; equal opportunity employer. Location: Refining Operations, AR, El Dorado.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) or more years Management experience (Required)
- Four (4) or more years Experience in a related field (Required)
- Required Certifications/Licensures: Working knowledge of Industrial engineering, safety, and IHS standards and procedures
- Experience in estimating, planning, coordinating and executing shutdowns for major turnarounds

- Leads the refinery's turnaround teams on assigned turnarounds
- Leads core TA team to ensure effective work coordination, planning, scheduling, cost management and materials management
- Leads TA Steering team to align operations, projects, maintenance and EHS functions
- Develops and maintains the turnaround schedules and budgets
- Coordinates site integration and resource issues through Operations and TA Process Leader
- Controls the cost and timing of the turnaround to meet the business and site needs
- Defines work list by freeze date; enforces administrative controls for add-ons after freeze date
- Develops critical path, integrate operations, projects and maintenance activities and optimize
- Estimates cost of TA based on scoped work; adjusts plans to meet constraints
- Manages issues during execution to achieve all business goals
- Identifies opportunities for frequency extension between turnarounds
- Prepares and communicates closure reports
- Ensures plans are updated and archived for future TA’s
- Ensure that all established procedures, standards and policies are incorporated within all TA activities
