Job Summary
Sr. Manager, Capital Markets Controllership leads a team to ensure the integrity and timeliness of financial reporting for the Equity Derivative business within CIBC Capital Markets; oversees setup, maintenance, and reporting for multiple trading portfolios and related initiatives; provides advisory oversight over financial reporting processes and seeks to automate and standardize where possible; emphasizes relationship-building and collaboration with business partners; demonstrates leadership in talent development and alignment of capabilities with organizational goals; requires a degree in business with preferred MBA/CFA/CPA, and experience with complex financial instruments and management reporting. The role is described as hybrid, with 1-3 days on-site and remaining days remote in Toronto, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- degree in business or related field (Bachelor's or Master's)
- related experience in accounting and financial analytics
- understanding of accounting for complex and/or sensitive information; financial instruments including but not limited to loan, deposits, equity products, equity derivative products, currency derivatives, interest rate products, and other hybrid instruments
- ability to lead and manage a team
- strong analytical thinking and data interpretation
- ability to communicate detailed financial information effectively
