Job Summary
Conduct facility and operations equipment maintenance, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration systems. Diagnose potential problems by observing equipment operation, interpret electrical drawings, and troubleshoot PLCs, controls, and motors. Dismantle devices to repair defective parts, perform preventive maintenance schedules, and document work orders and parts requisitions in the computerized management system. Supervise contractors and mentor technicians while prioritizing multiple tasks to support production priorities. Submit improvement ideas for equipment and processes, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and LOTO protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- at least 7 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic
- preferably on packaging lines in the food or beverage industry
- Computer knowledge
- competent in researching issues through internet browsers
- Microsoft software (Word and Excel)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as LOTO documents, schematics, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and daily e-mails
- Ability to speak effectively with team members
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must be able to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Must be available for 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00pm - 10:30pm)
