Job Summary
Sr. Maintenance Technician on the 2nd shift at MAT HD in Rome, GA. Responsible for efficient, reliable machinery operation through repairs and proactive maintenance; plans, troubleshoots, and identifies repair needs to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Collaborates with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and external vendors for maintenance, repair, and testing of equipment. Oversees and guides less experienced personnel, leads special projects, and ensures safe, organized work environments. Requires electrical/mechanical expertise (pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, fabrication), ability to interpret manuals and work orders, use hand and power tools, and lift up to 75 pounds. Must meet education/experience requirements (high school diploma; 2 years of college preferred; 6+ years maintenance experience) and pass background check, employment verification, and drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- 2 years of college preferred
- 6+ years of maintenance experience
- Proficient in electrical and mechanical skills (pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, fabrication)
- Able to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders
- Ability to operate hand/power tools, electrical meters, and material handling equipment
- Strong organizational, computer, and leadership skills
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs; lift up to 75 pounds with assistance
- Attention to detail; good coaching and communication skills
- Willingness to submit to background check, employment verification, and drug screen
