Job Summary
Sr. Machine Learning Engineer, Applied Science at Pinterest. Prototype new model architectures for Pinterest Canvas (internal text-to-image generative model) using diffusion models; read research papers and contribute to group discussions; help collect relevant visual training data and conduct RLHF, targeted fine-tuning, etc.; publish work via conferences, papers, blogs; mentor junior researchers or interns within Pinterest Labs. Join a small Canvas pod (~6 engineers) and collaborate on multimodal embeddings and conditioning of models for visualization features while contributing to both research and production deployment.
Required Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related areas
- 5+ years of industry computer vision experience
- Experience working with generative computer vision models, preferably diffusion models
- M.S. or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related areas
- Publications at top ML conferences (nice to have)
- Experience using AI coding assistants (Cursor, Copilot, Codex) (nice to have)
- Familiarity with LLM-powered productivity tools (nice to have)
