Job Summary
Develop, schedule, and conduct performance-based maintenance and technical training programs for plant-specific disciplines including radiation protection, chemistry, engineering, and maintenance. Prepare trainee examinations, evaluate classroom, laboratory, and simulator performance, and provide counseling to develop individualized training plans. Ensure training content remains current by incorporating Institute of Nuclear Power Operations reports, Nuclear Regulatory Commission bulletins, and internal design change information. Supervise auditable training records, participate in NRC and INPO audits, and support outage activities, emergency preparedness, and root cause analysis. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of plant operations and disciplinary techniques to deliver high-quality instruction.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 5 years of nuclear technical background
- 7 years of related (applicable discipline instruction) experience
- Associate's degree in technical discipline (e.g. chemistry, electrical, engineering, instrumentation, mathematics, mechanical, radiation protection), education or training
- 3 years of nuclear technical background
- 5 years of related (applicable discipline instruction) experience
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g. chemistry, engineering, health physics, mathematics, physics), education or training
- 3 years of related (applicable discipline instruction) experience
- 2 years of training or education experience
- Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable
- favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
Desired Qualifications
- Foreman/lead or supervisory experience
- 5+ years experience as a Senior (or equivalent) Radiation Protection technician
- 5+ years experience as an E-6 Navy Engineering Laboratory Technician
