Job Summary
Define Legal's AI roadmap by identifying transformable workflows, guiding build-vs-buy decisions, and measuring adoption impact. Configure, administer, and continuously improve the contract lifecycle management platform, including workflows, integrations, reporting, and AI-driven tools. Own outside counsel and legal vendor management end-to-end, managing invoice reviews, rate negotiations, alternative fee arrangements, and spend tracking. Build and maintain department workflows, intake processes, approval routing, and knowledge infrastructure such as precedent libraries and SOPs. Uplevel the legal team's operating system by supporting annual planning, defining key results, building dashboards, and serving as project manager for high-impact initiatives. Support governance and compliance hygiene, including records retention, litigation holds, internal controls, and audit cycles. Administer the cap table and equity management platform, coordinating stock option processing and 409A valuations. Onboard new hires and proactively identify process gaps to create scalable solutions.
Required Qualifications
- JD Degree and experience in legal operations, legal technology, and contract management, ideally in-house at a technology or industrial company
- Masters degree and 3 years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, and contract management, ideally in-house at a technology or industrial company
- Bachelors Degree and 5 years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, and contract management, ideally in-house at a technology or industrial company
- Fluency operating at the configuration layer of a CLM platform (e.g., Ironclad), including building and evolving workflows, integrations, and reporting
- Experience shaping outside counsel engagements, rate negotiations, alternative fee arrangements, accruals, and spend optimization in partnership with Finance
- U.S. citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Strong execution and project management skills with a demonstrated ownership mindset and comfort navigating ambiguity, able to concurrently drive multiple workstreams and deadlines; experience defining key results and building dashboards a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to move fluently between a legal conversation and a Finance, Sales, Product, or Engineering conversation
- Significant experience using GenAI tools to build AI-powered legal workflows
- Experience supporting a legal function through periods of significant growth
- Experience with legal operations across multiple international entities/jurisdictions
- Experience running outside counsel RFPs or panel reviews, and building legal department KPI or dashboard reporting
- Certification or training in legal operations (e.g., CLOC-affiliated programs) a plus
