Job Summary
Senior Lead Software Engineer role at JPMorganChase within Consumer and Community Banking – Card Conversions Product. Lead modernization of legacy components, drive change management decisions across business teams, participate in all SDLC phases (requirements, design, coding, testing, deployment), and employ agile methodologies (SCRUM) for rapid delivery. Hands-on coding and triage (level 3 support), plus reporting, code walkthroughs, and internal wellness checks. Requires formal software engineering training/certification and 15+ years of development experience, with Core Java, Spring, REST API, cloud/microservices, and strong leadership capabilities. Preferred experience with AngularJS/React, NoSQL, API Gateways, Kafka, Cassandra; strongly emphasizes leadership, strategic thinking, adaptability, and cross-team collaboration. Location: Wilmington, DE, US; full-time.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of hands-on experience
- At least 15+ years of hands-on software development experience
- Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages Core Java, Spring frameworks, REST API, Cloud, Micro services
- Extensive experience in a senior leadership role
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
- Experience with development and build tools (e.g., IntelliJ/Eclipse, Maven, Bitbucket/Git/Gitflow, JMeter/Pasta/Blazemeter, Spring Framework, Hibernate, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, MVC, Spring Cloud)
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Strategic thinking and adaptability to change
