Job Summary
Sr Lead Software Engineer role within JPMorgan Chase's Markets Technology and Spread Pricing Direct team. Responsible for designing and delivering secure, scalable software solutions across multiple technical areas, owning architectural decisions, and producing production-grade code with a focus on operational stability. Will work in an agile team, create architecture and design artifacts, identify and fix issues, and leverage AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity and code quality. Requires senior/lead experience, Java (Spring Boot), React, AWS Cloud, microservices, RESTful Web services, frontend UI (ReactJS), and familiarity with NoSQL databases and AI-assisted development tools; candidates should be able to independently tackle complex design problems, maintain systems, and contribute to a diverse and inclusive team culture.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience in senior or lead roles
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in Java
- Good experience in cloud-native foundations AWS
- Advanced experience in application development (Java, Spring Boot, databases and cloud-native foundations AWS)
- Proven experience with Micro services and RESTful Web services
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Knowledge of frontend UI frameworks such as ReactJS
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar platforms to accelerate development and improve code quality
- Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing systems while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
