Job Summary
Senior Lead Security Engineer role focusing on designing, building, and implementing advanced security solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments; developing automation and embedding security across the software development lifecycle; conducting threat hunting and risk assessments; driving adoption of emerging cybersecurity technologies (e.g., zero trust, container security, AI/ML-driven analytics); mentoring junior engineers; and representing the organization in external security forums.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years of applied security engineering experience
- Experience with public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and integrating security controls into cloud-native architectures
- Threat modeling and risk assessments using STRIDE, DREAD, or PASTA
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, C/C++, Go, Java) and scripting for automation
- Hands-on design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade security solutions
- Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines with integrated security testing (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Experience with version control (Git, BitBucket) and agile tools (Jira)
- Ability to translate security requirements into actionable engineering tasks and documentation
- Vendor assessment experience of security practices and controls
- Preferred: IaC (Terraform, Ansible), DevSecOps, container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Preferred certifications (CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security Specialty, GIAC, OSCP)
- Familiarity with security frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS)
- Experience with threat intelligence, incident response playbooks, and post-incident reviews
- Active participation in cybersecurity community activities (open-source, conferences)
