Job Summary
Sr Lead Negotiator to serve as Southwest's leading spokesperson and first chair in union negotiations for frontline Ground Operations, Customer Services, and Mechanic Teams. Lead a negotiation team of 5–10, manage multiple collective bargaining agreements across four unions and six workgroups, set negotiation strategy, guide bargaining from planning through agreement, and support contract implementation. Build strong relationships with Union leadership, advise Company Leaders, and navigate operational, financial, and regulatory considerations to drive durable labor agreements. Requires close collaboration with Labor Relations leadership, and frequent in-person work at the Dallas, TX Headquarters during business hours. Must effectively communicate, analyze contracts, and handle confidential information; knowledge of FMLA and ADA is advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- Education Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in negotiations, interpretation, and/or administration of collective bargaining agreements
- Experience leading or working with contract workgroups
- Experience in the aviation industry preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by law
