Job Summary
Lead HVAC technical guidance for fleet operations, overseeing major repairs, upgrades, and capital projects including dry-dock activities. Manage lifecycle strategies, obsolescence planning, and system reliability improvements while investigating technical issues and ensuring fleetwide communication of lessons learned. Deliver first- and second-level support for safe, efficient, and compliant operation of HVAC and refrigeration systems, coordinating maintenance plans with Ship Managers and onboard engineering teams. Work with classification societies to ensure adherence to IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, and class requirements, conducting ship visits, inspections, and risk assessments. Manage HVAC budgets, spare-parts planning, and long-term service agreements, leading CAPEX and CAR projects including multi-million-dollar investments. Support newbuild projects with system specifications and warranty follow-up.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent maritime qualification
- 5–10 years of experience with HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical environmental systems in maritime, industrial, or commercial settings
- Strong understanding of large‐scale chillers, air‐handling units, control systems, and energy‐efficient HVAC technologies
- Experience with fleet technical management, dry‐docking, and maintenance planning
- Strong analytical and communication skills and ability to support diverse, multicultural teams
- This is a land‐based (shoreside) position
