Job Summary
Sr Lead Java Fullstack Software Engineer responsible for leading applications development efforts, establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs, and guiding senior-level stakeholders. The role emphasizes leading integration of functions to meet goals, deploying new products, improving processes, and providing expertise across advanced applications programming. Key responsibilities include analyzing complex business and system processes, defining solutions, developing methodologies and standards for analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation, leveraging microservices and front-end/back-end technologies (Java, Spring Boot, Angular, TypeScript), and ensuring risk and regulatory considerations are addressed. The position requires coordinating with cross-functional teams, allocating work, coaching developers, and communicating with senior leaders and external parties. Required skills span backend and frontend development, API design, CI/CD, containerization, cloud platforms, observability, and production support. The role is based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, and is a full-time position with a broad senior-level scope.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in full-stack web application development
- Strong backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot (REST APIs, security concepts, performance, scalability)
- Strong frontend development experience with Angular including TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS
- Experience using UI component libraries such as Kendo UI
- Working knowledge of micro front-end architecture and patterns
- Solid understanding of API design and microservices
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server and relational data modeling
- Experience with Elasticsearch and Kafka
- Proficiency with GitHub / Bitbucket workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an agile team
- Preferred: cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP); containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift)
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, and UI testing)
- Exposure to observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing) and production support
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred
