(Sr./Lead) Engineer I (II)

Job Summary
Hybrid Sr/Lead Engineer for real-time Energy Management System (EMS) focusing on Network Applications – including State Estimation, Contingency Analysis, Transfer and Voltage Stability Analysis – with coordination towards SCADA, ratings and related internal tools. The Engineer will perform O&M, integration work, testing, operational event support, and training to run and advance the EMS to world-class performance, and may serve as an SME on emerging policy issues impacting grid operations. Expect 24x7 on-call rotations and in-office time at PJM's Valley Forge campus (two days per week required, three days preferred). Responsibilities include engaging with TOs, GOs, PJM Dispatch to meet critical needs, EMS tuning, coordinating with overlapping EMS sub-teams, attending industry forums, supporting audits and compliance, and maintaining alignment with best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years of experience in real-time Energy Management System
- Experience with power flow applications such as PSS/E, PSS-MUST, TARA, PAAC, EMS or equivalent
- Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support
- Experience using mathematical and electrical theory
- PJM operations, markets, and planning functions (preferred)
- MS degree in Engineering (preferred)
- Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions (preferred)
- PSS/e experience (preferred)
- Ability to work in a collaborative, diverse environment
