Job Summary
The Sr. Java Developer role involves performing full life-cycle activities for Claims Enhancement projects, including detailed technical design, project planning, and accountability for development tasks. Candidates must possess a strong background in Java/J2EE technologies and have over 8 years of professional software development experience, including a minimum of 6 years specifically with Java and J2EE. Responsibilities include conducting code reviews, unit and integration testing, and documenting design and maintenance processes. Preferred skills include experience with various Java frameworks and technologies such as EJB, Spring, JSP, and an understanding of software development best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years professional software development experience in object-oriented language
- 6+ years experience with Java and J2EE
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, EJB, JSP, JDBC, JPA, JMS, Log4J, AJAX
- Experience with RDBMS, especially Oracle, good SQL skills
- Some AspectJ experience
- Excellent object-oriented analysis and design patterns/techniques
Desired Qualifications
- Proven strong technical and project leadership
- Ability to follow and comply with a formal SDLC process
- Strong hands-on experience with UML
- Strong background on multi-platform system integrations at an enterprise level
- Excellent application performance tuning skills
