Job Summary
Manage complex high net worth trust and individual portfolios, developing and directing execution of investment strategies aligned with client objectives. Oversee investment practice activities for a specific market, ensuring adherence to best practices, risk management guidelines, and national investment strategies. Lead local teams in hiring, retention, and development while participating in strategic planning and new capability rollouts. Represent the firm in new business development with prospective clients and engage with legal and external advisors to coordinate portfolio activity.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of investment experience as a portfolio manager, in which consistent long term investment performance has met account objectives and client goals with strong adherence to best practices and sound risk management approaches
- Knowledge of investment and portfolio management theory, accounting, and financial principles, and investment strategies and instruments
- Strong sales and negotiating skills
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Experience as a Senior Portfolio Advisor in Wealth Management for UHNW clients
- Technical expertise with a broad range of investment solutions
- Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view
- Ability to lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity
- Ability to apply advanced critical thinking to resolve highly complex or unusual business problems
- Ability to determine unit goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff
- Ability to drive financial performance using broad industry knowledge and commercial awareness
- Ability to participate in the selection process of new hires
- Ability to develop the local market strategic plan and set goals and priorities
- Ability to provide leadership and guidance to staff
- Ability to advocate on behalf of their team and capture continuous feedback
- Ability to provide oversight, leadership, and guidance in adherence to National Investment Guidelines
- Ability to facilitate the REV peer review process
- Ability to ensure observance of sound risk management practices
- Ability to serve on standing investment services committees
- Ability to participate in special projects
