Job Summary
Coordinate daily activities and schedules for the special procedure component of the Radiology department, establishing work schedules and staff assignments to ensure appropriate 24-hour coverage. Assist the interventional radiologist in complex diagnostic and therapeutic angiographic procedures, including myelography, arthrography, and venography, while preparing patients, equipment, and supplies. Evaluate radiographs for technical accuracy, monitor patient vitals using physical assessment skills, and provide input for personnel actions such as performance appraisals and promotions. Review and recommend revisions to policies and regulations, collect statistical data for administrative adherence, and participate in quality assurance activities. Requires ARRT certification with advanced cardiovascular or vascular interventional credentials and 3-4 years of experience in a vascular interventional environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree required or Certificate (before Jan.1 2015) in Radiologic Technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or Medical Education and Training Campus (METC)
- 3-4 years Minimum 3 years experience in vascular interventional environment (cardiac cath vascular or neuro interventional area)
- ARRT Registered with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with advanced certification in Cardiovascular (CV) Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI)
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Basic and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
