Job Summary
Senior Internal Auditor to join Internal Audit team in Toronto-area highway operator's Ontario office. Responsible for leading and executing financial, operational, and compliance audits across diverse areas, developing audit scope and programs, conducting interviews and testing, identifying control gaps and root causes, and delivering clear reports with practical recommendations. Requires strong analytical capability, knowledge of auditing standards and frameworks (COSO, IIA), professional ethics, and ability to manage end-to-end engagements with autonomy. Collaboration with management and auditees to drive effective risk management, internal controls, policies, and process improvements, and support continuous improvement of internal audit practices.
Required Qualifications
- Professional certification: CPA and/or CIA
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum five years of experience in internal audit, accounting, or risk management
- Strong understanding of internal auditing standards (IIA) and COSO
- Data analysis and audit tools
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) for senior management
- Project management capability and ability to manage multiple priorities
