Job Summary
Senior Manager of Transmission & Interconnection leads generator interconnection strategy and execution for a utility-scale renewable energy portfolio in the MISO and PJM markets. Responsibilities include queue management of interconnection requests, strategic planning to identify low-cost, high-capacity grid areas, negotiating and managing Generator Interconnection Agreements with ISOs/TOs, reviewing ISO-led interconnection study reports for errors or cost-saving scenarios, engaging stakeholders in ISO/RTO meetings, and collaborating with project developers and M&A teams to provide transmission insights for due diligence and project siting.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience: 5–10 years of experience in electrical power systems, specifically focused on generation interconnection
- Market Expertise: Deep knowledge of MISO and PJM interconnection rules, tariffs, and market structures
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with power flow modeling software such as PSSE, or/and TARA
- Soft Skills: Proven ability to communicate complex technical risks to non-technical executive leadership
