Job Summary

Senior Manager of Transmission & Interconnection to lead CAISO/WECC interconnection for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS). Responsibilities include leading interconnection queue management, performing complex power system studies (power flow, transient stability, short circuit, curtailment), strategic siting, negotiating interconnection agreements with CAISO/WECC and PTOs, regulatory advocacy with CAISO/WECC stakeholder processes and FERC changes, due diligence for M&A activities, and ensuring compliance with NERC/WECC/ISO tariffs to meet milestones. Requires 5–10 years in CAISO transmission/interconnection, familiarity with PSS/E/PSLF/TARA/PowerGEM, and a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems); preferred experience includes renewable developers, CAISO modeling for hybrid resources, and established CAISO/PTO relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus) or related field
  • 5–10 years of professional experience focused on transmission and interconnection within the CAISO market
  • Deep expertise in the CAISO Tariff, BPMs, and annual Transmission Planning Process (TPP)
  • Experience with CAISO/WECC queue management for utility-scale solar, wind, and BESS
  • Proficiency with modeling tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, TARA, or PowerGEM
