Job Summary

Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to maximize short and long-term sales performance by managing assigned territories and targeted accounts. Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets while building trusted customer relationships through proactive needs solving and objection handling. Create pre-call plans, execute post-call evaluations, and optimize call metrics to ensure consistent coverage and frequency with key customers. Continuously build market intelligence on customer expectations, competitors, and therapeutic landscapes to share with in-field teams and optimize brand execution. Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with health providers and maintain disease state experts to drive win-win agreements. This field-based role requires HCIR credentialing, a valid driver's license, and adherence to AbbVie's business code of conduct.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field
  • Relevant and equivalent industry experience
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Five (5) years of experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry
  • Proven track record of leadership success
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to proactively identify customer style / behavior
  • Ability to adapt quickly all aspects of selling approach
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
  • Ability to meet safe driving requirements
  • Ability to drive a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment
  • Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
  • Be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials
  • Background checks

  • Live within a reasonable distance from the primary city

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred
  • Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor's degree is at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
  • Proven track record of success in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas
  • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experiences such as physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Recognized as an expert resource by all relevant stakeholders
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries)
