Job Summary
Develop, implement, and continuously improve industrial hygiene and ergonomic programs across all SpaceX facilities, including chemical, noise, and exposure assessments. Design dashboards to track performance metrics and identify opportunities to apply data analysis, automation, and AI/ML for improved risk prediction. Partner with operations and engineering teams to integrate controls into new processes from the design phase, lead exposure monitoring campaigns, and interpret results to recommend engineering, administrative, and PPE controls. Build standardized processes to drive operational maturity and ensure compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations while supporting incident investigations. Deliver training programs for employees and leadership. This role requires a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in EHS, CIH certification preferred, and the ability to work extended hours and weekends. The position is based in Hawthorne, CA, and requires relocation if not already local.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in the design, development, and/or general operational oversight of environmental, health, and safety disciplines
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed
- This is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Hawthorne, CA area
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or working toward certification
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar) and basic data analysis
- Familiarity with applying AI or machine learning to safety or exposure data
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing or rapid iteration environments
- Knowledge of aerospace or launch vehicle operations
- Strong project management and process improvement skills (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)
