Sr HVAC Mechanic

Job Summary
Conduct daily maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair of engineering facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and Building Automation Systems. Troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems, repair electrical components, and maintain screw-type chillers and water-cooled air handlers while operating PIV equipment like forklifts and man lifts. Monitor Cleanroom HEPA filtration systems and ensure optimum manufacturing run conditions by utilizing technical publications to order materials. Maintain operations and maintenance records, collaborate on cross-functional teams, and strictly adhere to Celgard safety guidelines and confidentiality protocols in a manufacturing plant environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in a technical related field, or completion of an accredited trade school in (HVAC) heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems or equivalent training
- EPA Clean Air Section 608 License
- NC Electrician License
- NC Fire Sprinkler Maintenance Technician License
- 10 years of experience in an industrial environment maintaining and repairing HVAC systems
- Ability to troubleshoot a wide range of AC/DC electrical systems
- Ability to repair and/or replace electrical components that make up HVAC systems
- Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to bend and twist in order to reach remote equipment
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Flexibility to carry a cell phone for coverage and site wide communication
- Willingness to work a 2nd or 3rd shift schedule when required
- PIV equipment license (forklifts, man lifts, etc.)
- Ability to work on a high performing team
- Ability to build effective workplace relationships, motivating co-workers, and supporting co-worker development
- Ability to deal with conflict productively, bringing forth issues that need to be discussed and work to forge a mutually beneficial outcome

- Understanding of complete HVAC system monitoring best practices of optimum manufacturing run conditions
- Ability to use special tools and equipment in order to install and maintain HVAC systems
- Ability to operate PIV equipment (forklifts, man lifts, etc.)
- Ability to maintain screw type chillers and water cooled air handlers
- Ability to maintain operations and maintenance records
- Ability to work collaboratively with others; lead and participate on cross-functional teams
- Ability to follow all Celgard safety guidelines and procedures; plan safety into projects and tasks
- Ability to keep all Celgard information CONFIDENTIAL
Desired Qualifications
- Special courses in electrical, pneumatic, facility monitoring/control and power plant systems
- Proficiency with computers and computer applications (MS Office, Word, Excel)
- Understanding of Cleanroom HEPA filtration systems, cleanroom requirements and protocol
