Job Summary

Lead the design, development, and verification of advanced GNC systems for spacecraft applications, architect integrated guidance, navigation, and control designs, and develop detailed plans for program execution. Design and implement advanced guidance and control algorithms (including optimal control and autonomous navigation) using LIDAR, vision, GPS, and RGPS; oversee end-to-end GNC algorithm development, sizing of sensors/actuators, and integration across spacecraft subsystems; develop Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasking and long-term plans, support proposals and SOWs, and perform HITL unit and system testing to verify GNC performance; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate high-level requirements into sensor and actuator sizing, interfaces with onboard avionics, and ensure compliant subsystem performance. Strong emphasis on hands-on modeling, simulations, and data analysis (including MIMO linearization and closed-loop dynamics); leadership and mentoring across teams. Familiar with tools such as STK, JIRA, Confluence, and MS Project; knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and system-level trades to optimize performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
  • 8+ years of experience in GNC algorithm design, subsystem integration, and spacecraft development
