Job Summary
Manage global sourcing for wiring harnesses by collaborating with Engineering, Supplier Quality, and NPI to identify qualified suppliers. Create RFQs, analyze quotations, and negotiate contracts covering pricing, tooling, and engineering services. Release parts into production, issue purchase orders for prototype and tooling, and drive supplier development timelines. Track ECRs, resolve delays, and perform site audits while maintaining overall supplier relationships and reporting status. Travel 15-25% to visit suppliers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Finance discipline
- 5+ years experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering of wiring harnesses and related electrical and mechanical components
- Understanding of manufacturing processes supporting electrical distribution systems and assembly
- Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise, and problem solve, as well as work independently on multiple tasks or projects
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of resilience to deal with urgent requests and minimal information
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Passion for results, strategy, and hands-on execution
- Creative, calculated risk-taker with the ability to manage complex suppliers and resolve disputes while preserving relationships with suppliers and internal staff
- Strong written and verbal skills as well as organizational and program management capabilities
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, JIRA, Confluence, and ERP systems (SAP or equivalent)
- Ability to mitigate unforeseen problems creatively and effectively
- Travel 15-25% to visit suppliers to perform business and program reviews
