Job Summary
Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality to identify qualified suppliers, create RFQs, and analyze quotations to develop sound sourcing recommendations balancing cost, quality, and lead time. Negotiate favorable contracts for parts pricing, tooling, and engineering services while managing supplier development timelines and part availability for prototype builds and production. Act as the key internal interface with cross-functional teams to release parts, issue purchase orders, and resolve delays or commercial issues. Travel 15-25% to visit suppliers for business and program reviews. Support the BIW team in establishing global supply chain strategy and driving sound business decisions throughout the product life cycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance or related field
- 5 years' experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, OR Engineering
- Understanding of body design
- Extensive experience in sourcing two or more of the following commodities: paints, coatings, adhesives (structural, bonding, sealing), baffles, castings and extrusions
- Understanding of quality principles
- Understanding of product development processes
- Understanding of data analysis
