Job Summary
Architect, design, and implement systems within the Scratch ecosystem, ranging from multi-step application processes to backend risk assessments and payment processing. Write clean, maintainable code across backend services and frontend components, contributing directly to key projects that support the lending business and third-party integrations. Contribute to overall quality and test coverage, ensuring all features are tested end-to-end, while growing and improving the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines. Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews as a key member of the agile team, and take ownership of incident response and debugging for your code and shared services. Translate product requirements into implementation plans and working code, leveraging AI-assisted development to deliver high-quality solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Availability: we are accepting candidates from UTC-3 to UTC-8 timezones
- Fluency in English is a must
- 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
- strong backend skills using Node.js + TypeScript
- experience developing RESTful APIs
- Frontend experience using React
- proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Practical knowledge of SQL and NoSQL Databases, like MySQL, PostegreSQL, Firestore, Redis etc
- Experience working in domain-based monorepos that house and independently deploy multiple backend services
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum processes
- Comfortable navigating a fast-paced startup environment

Desired Qualifications
- Ability to switch between languages and frameworks
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure best practices (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes are a plus)

- Experience in PHP and/or Golang
- Experience in risk modeling and underwriting processes
- Experience in building payment processing solutions
- Experience in ML models
- Experience in QA tooling, like Playwright, Cypress or Selenium
