Sr. Forensic Engineer

Job Summary
Manage structural forensic engineering assignments, perform assessments, and develop reports outlining site observations, applicable codes, findings, and conclusions for insurance carriers, attorneys, and property managers. Conduct on-site interviews to collect histories and data, photograph conditions to determine causes of loss, and review codes to formulate defensible facts. Communicate with clients before and after site visits to clarify scopes, supervise junior engineers on field work and report development, and testify in legal proceedings when required. Constant travel within 150 miles of the Orlando office is necessary, with occasional regional travel. A Florida PE license is required within six months of start.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architecture Engineering
- Knowledge of building codes and standards and construction practices
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Florida, or ability to obtain one within 6 months of start date
- 5+ years of experience
- Residential and/or Commercial inspection & assessment experience
- Litigation experience
- Constant travel within 150 miles of your office location
- occasional travel for work with other NV5 office locations/staff or geographic regions
