Job Summary
Design and develop innovative, cost-efficient footwear concepts through story-telling, technical development, and CAD rendering. Create detailed tech packs for outsole and upper designs, draw cross sections, and read blueprints accurately. Build seasonal product strategies and trend boards while collaborating with merchandisers on line plans, color palettes, and pricing. Work with developers in the US and Asia to coordinate new materials, constructions, and processes, ensuring prototypes reflect the final concept. Protect and enhance the SKECHERS "DNA" brand identity through fashion-forward designs and technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Footwear Design, Fashion Design or Graphic Design
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive, shoe designing experience
- Knowledge of shoe constructions and materials
- Expert skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
- Great communication/presentation skills
- Ability to sketch shoes accurately, quickly, proportionately & provide detailed specifications
- Must understand the footwear production process at the factory level
- Thorough understanding of ever-changing fashion trends and directions
- Ability to collaborate with other designers, colorists, technicians, and merchandisers
- Must be versatile and be able to switch gears project to project
- Must have a passion for performance and lifestyle footwear design
