Job Summary

Senior Flight Software Engineer responsible for software development across the spacecraft program lifecycle, including design, analysis, manufacturing, test, and flight. Responsibilities encompass design and development of flight computer software, integrating complex GNC algorithms with flight software, defining/maintaining the Command Telemetry Database for ground/on-orbit test, collaborating with ground C2 software teams, scripting/sequencing spacecraft operations, and building satellite subsystem simulators in HITL/SITL environments. Develop reusable device drivers/interfaces and communications protocol libraries for flight hardware; work with RTOS-based embedded systems, embedded Linux, and networking protocols. Requires strong proficiency in C/C++, Python, and experience with low-level firmware, as well as TS/SCI clearance eligibility. Onsite work near Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA; open to applying compensation based on qualifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience with low-level firmware architecture, design, and development

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience with low-level firmware architecture, design, and development
  • Experience with embedded RTOS such as RTLinux or Azure RTOS
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
  • Ability to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance
  • Master’s degree (preferred) in related field
  • 7+ years experience developing and/or producing FSW for space applications (preferred)
  • Experience with embedded Linux (preferred)
  • Familiarity with networking protocols: UDP, TCP/IP (preferred)
  • Strong debugging skills with instrumentation (preferred)
