Sr Fire Protection Engineer

Job Summary
Act as Owner's Technical Representative on projects from concept through sustainment across Disneyland Resort and ancillary properties. Manage design and development of contract documents with in-house and outside resources, coordinating design activities and monitoring field installations to ensure compliance with specifications and codes. Review drawings, engineering calculations, and shop drawing submittals to validate project execution against local, state, and Disney design standards. Partner with internal teams to enforce Walt Disney Company design guidelines and resolve design compliance issues. Report to the A&FE MEP Engineering Sr. Manager in Anaheim, CA.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of fire protection proven related experience
- Full awareness w/ working knowledge of Building & Fire Codes and NFPA Codes & Standards
- OSHA compliance experience with codes and standards development such as NFPA, ASTM, ICC, CFR, etc
- Proven field experience in the design, integration/coordination/rectification, and construction of fire protection systems and/or fire protection consulting
- Knowledge in the use and application of computer modeling tools for fire and smoke spread and timed egress analysis
- Owner's representation and AHJ capacity
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- CA Professional Engineer in Fire Protection Engineer (License)
Desired Qualifications
- Mechanical Plumbing specific experience with theme parks, resort hotels, and mixed-use facilities with backflow prevention analysis
- Experience with fire testing and regulatory application of fire test methods to building materials
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
- Master's Degree in related engineering field
