Sr Financial Planner

Job Summary
Develop and maintain comprehensive financial plans including cash flow, spending, and long-term projections for high-net-worth families. Incorporate trust structures, gifting strategies, and estate plans into models while partnering with internal tax and legal advisors. Act as a point of contact for family members, presenting actionable insights using financial planning software tools like eMoney. Mentor Principal Services team members and help define standardized planning processes to support scalability as the number of family members increases. This role reports to the EVP & Chief Operating Officer within one of Chicago's oldest private investment companies and single-family offices.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience using financial planning software in a client-facing role
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals or families
- Demonstrated ability to build and present comprehensive financial plans
- Strong understanding of estate planning concepts (trusts, gifting, generational transfers)
- Strong understanding of individual and trust taxation fundamentals
- Strong understanding of investment principles and their integration into financial planning
- Experience with financial planning software (Vanilla, eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, or similar)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage across generations
- High level of discretion, judgment, and professionalism
- Service-oriented mindset with a focus on long-term relationship building
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Team player with a true spirit of cooperation and willingness to ensure a smooth and effective operation
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- CFP®, CPA, or similar designation preferred
