Job Summary
Perform installations, splicing, termination service, testing and maintenance of power transmission and distribution equipment including low and medium voltage and high voltage (up to 500kV) electrical systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing transformers and circuit breakers, conducting inspections, and maintaining safety compliance. Ideal candidates have a strong background in medium voltage cable termination and installations, and knowledge of electrical codes and standards. Experience with specific equipment types, mentoring technicians, and effective communication with clients are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in a related field
- Strong background in medium voltage cable termination, splicing, and installations
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards such as NETA, OSHA, IEEE, and NFPA
- Strong background and experience in most types of medium voltage and high voltage equipment 69KV and above
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with live front stress cones
- Filling and working with SF6 filled equipment
- Operating high voltage test equipment including Doble Power Factor test sets
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license required for company vehicle
- Valid passport is considered an asset
