Job Summary
Plan and schedule weekly construction activities, manage crew and subcontractors, and execute large-scale landscape installations for residential and commercial projects. Conduct daily production reviews with the Superintendent, resolve on-site operational and technical problems, and enforce health and safety protocols including incident reporting. Coordinate equipment needs, approve timesheets, and maintain client relationships while ensuring all tools and vehicles are available and properly maintained. Work 8–12 hour days Monday through Saturday in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions
- Must be able to work 8 - 12 hour days Monday to Saturday
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have a reliable vehicle
- Must possess a CLEAN driver abstract
- Must be able to drive a truck with a trailer
- Must have steel-toed boots (6" at Ankle)
- Must be able and willing to get your hands dirty
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, clients, subordinates, and other colleagues
- Must be able to effectively oversee the work activities of direct reports
- Must have strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Must be able to manage a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Must be able to identify hazards and other potential obstacles during project construction
- Must be able to recommend potential solutions for hazards
- Must be able to identify needs for supplies, materials, & equipment
- Must be able to identify requirements for tools & equipment
- Must be able to account for assigned trucks, trailers, bobcats, and other tools/equipment
- Must be able to conduct daily reviews of project production status
- Must be able to resolve on-site operational, human resource, and technical problems
- Must be able to develop and maintain client relationships
- Must be able to prepare and approve all daily timesheets
- Must be able to practice, encourage, and enforce company corporate values
- Must be able to communicate job expectations to direct reports
- Must be able to participate in construction activities
- Must be able to coordinate, manage, and motivate the day-to-day activities of crew members and sub-contractors
- Must be able to implement operating methods and procedures
- Must be able to review all project specifications, the scope of work, and site conditions
- Must be able to establish project schedules and priorities
- Must be able to provide coaching, training, and performance evaluation
- Must be able to report to the Superintendent
- Must be able to attend project meetings as a representative of the company
- Must be able to provide daily production & activity reports, communication logs, and other relevant information and documents
- Must be able to ensure their safe operation and maintenance
- Must be able to train crew members
- Must be able to enforce incident reporting
- Must be able to enforce safety
- Must have 2 years of Field Supervisory experience or large-scale landscape construction experience
- Must have a class 5 driver's license
- Must have experience operating landscaping and construction equipment such as; skid steers, tractors, backhoes, etc.
- Must have Project management skills
- Must be Health & safety oriented
- Must be willing to work seasonal position from April to Nov
- Must be willing to work winter snow removal positions if available
- Must be able to work overtime after 8 hours per day and 44 hours per week
