Job Summary

Field Service Techs are responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining power transmission and distribution equipment, including low, medium, and high voltage systems up to 500kV. The role includes performing maintenance and repair on transformers, circuit breakers, and related equipment, conducting testing on cable installations, and troubleshooting control schemes. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED with 2-5 years of experience, depending on the specific tech level. Certification from NETA for Levels II, III, or IV is required, alongside knowledge of industry safety standards and good problem-solving skills.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a related field
  • NETA Level II/III/IV certification (depending on level)
  • Knowledge of NETA, NEC, OSHA, NFPA standards
  • Good theoretical understanding of electricity
  • Strong computer skills with Windows and Microsoft Office

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience filling and working with SF6 filled equipment and gas insulated switchgear
  • Experience operating high voltage test equipment including Doble Power Factor test sets
  • Technical training from military programs (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, Navy)

Additional Requirements

  • For positions utilizing a company vehicle, a valid driver’s license is required
