Job Summary
Sr. Field Performance Technician at Sunrun is responsible for managing, scheduling, and executing service and warranty work across solar installation projects. Core duties include organizing and leading the warranty/service schedule, allocating labor with supervisors, assisting with training of Field Service Technicians, onboarding new team members, driving continuous improvement through KPI tracking (turnaround time, experience rating, dispatches completed), and performing inspections/site audits as assigned. Requires strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills, with experience in PV electrical work, NEC codes, and field construction. Valid driver’s license and a High School diploma are required; Electrical Journeyman certification/license is preferred depending on state. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to work on rooftops and conduct field tasks across solar installations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma is required
- PV design or PV electrical experience is preferred
- Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check
- Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
- Electrical Journeyman certification or license preferred (depending on state requirements)
- Knowledge of NEC and applicable codes and standards
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to interpret single line drawings and PV systems from roof to meter
- Understanding of electrical principles and PV interconnection/tie-in
