Sr. Field Application Scientist - Chemistry/Formulations

Job Summary
Partner with the sales organization to drive customer engagements and achieve solution adoption by conducting thorough needs assessments and designing custom software demonstrations. Execute pre-sales activities including proof of concepts, pilots, workshops, and evaluations specific to the product area, while supplementing canned demonstrations as required. Assist with responses to RFIs and RFPs, then provide strategic insights to product management and marketing based on customer feedback to guide development and market positioning. This role supports seamless handovers to professional services and customer support teams. Open to travel to customer sites and conferences, with expectations of 30-40%.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Organic Chemistry, Formulations, Cheminformatics or STEM disciplines
- 3+ years of lab experience in research or industry
- Strong understanding of synthetic chemistry
- 3+ years' experience with relevant scientific and informatics solutions, including ChemDraw
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience in polymer/formulation chemistry
- MSs or PHD degree in Organic Chemistry, Formulations, Cheminformatics or STEM disciplines
- Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN) and analytics platforms like Spotfire
- Strong experience with scripting languages and RESTful APIs
- Strong skills in communication and presentation, capable of effectively conveying a solution value
- Highly customer-oriented with the ability to engage with clients at all levels, conduct demonstrations and solution proof of concepts
- Open to travel to customer sites and conferences, with travel expectations of 30-40%
- Previous customer-facing experience
