Job Summary
Senior-level, remote-export compliance specialist responsible for classifying parts, equipment, and technology and ensuring international transfers are compliant with export and trade regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC, CBP). Responsibilities include determining and documenting classification designations, interpreting international trade regulations, ensuring proper use of export authorizations, reviewing contracts for global trade requirements, maintaining required recordkeeping, preparing and reviewing export documentation (EEI, SLI, commercial invoices), and monitoring regulatory changes and their impact on the business.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in trade compliance
- Strong background in product ECCN/HTS classification
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical field (a plus)
- Extensive understanding of export control and international trade concepts including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and FTR
- Familiarity with non-US trade regulations
- Proficiency with OCR EASE, DECCS, SNAP-R, and ACE
- Ability to work with minimal day-to-day guidance
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups and work well within a team
