Job Summary
Review project specifications, plans, and geotech reports; attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to determine conditions. Solicit subcontractors and material suppliers, develop bid packages, and issue RFQs while managing DBE and SBE requirements. Prepare estimates by performing take-offs, building activities and logic in Heavy Bid software, and enter quotes to make awards. Close-out bids and submit owner/agency documents with Chief Estimator direction. Conduct bid reviews with management prior to bid day. Requires seven years of heavy civil estimating experience and a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in heavy civil / roadway estimating including removals, grading, concrete structures, aggregate placement, asphalt paving, airport runways and related scopes of work
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a traditional college, technical school or university in Engineering or Construction Management
- 7 years of Estimating including software like HCCS, Heavy Bid, AGTEK, OST, P6, Excel
- Positive attitude
- Ability to work well with others
