SR ESTIMATOR- HEAVY CIVIL/HEAVY HIGHWAY

Job Summary
Review project specifications, plans, and geotech reports while attending pre-bid meetings and conducting site visits to determine conditions. Determine self-performed and subcontracted scopes of work, then solicit subcontractors and material suppliers, including any DBE or SBE requirements. Develop bid packages, send out RFQs, and prepare estimates by performing take-offs and building logic in Heavy Bid software. Enter quotes, make awards, and conduct bid reviews with the Chief Estimator and management team prior to bid day. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, five years of heavy civil estimating experience, and proficiency with HCSS or similar software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college, technical school or university in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years of heavy civil / roadway estimating experience including removals, grading, concrete structures, aggregate placement, asphalt paving, airport runways and related scopes of work or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years of Estimating including software like HCSS, Heavy Bid, AGTEK, OST, P6, Excel or equivalent
- 5 years of experience with estimating software like HCSS, Heavy Bid or AGTEK
