Job Summary
Sr. EOR Engineer responsible for leading reservoir simulation and chemical EOR efforts. Responsibilities include conducting complex reservoir simulations to optimize recovery strategies, leading R&D for EOR chemicals (surfactants, polymers, additives), overseeing laboratory analysis such as core flooding and PVT, designing pilot and full-field EOR projects (chemical flooding, gas injection, or thermal recovery), integrating geological, petrophysical, and production data into models, providing field oversight, and driving innovation through industry collaboration, technical publications, and presentations. Travel overseas up to 90 days/year; author will represent CNPC USA at symposia and may contribute to patents. Requires Ph.D. preferred or Master’s with significant experience, 8+ years in reservoir engineering, strong writing/presentation skills, and US work authorization.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Reservoir Engineering is preferred; a Master’s degree with significant industry experience will be considered
- 8+ years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering with a specialized focus on EOR techniques in the upstream oil and gas sector
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex engineering concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Available for business travel overseas (no more than 90 days per year)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States of America
