Job Summary
Senior EHS Engineer responsible for proactive environmental, health, and safety support, site assessments and inspections, development and implementation of safety programs, and leading incident investigations across domestic and international sites; requires extensive travel (50%+), strong regulatory knowledge (OSHA, EPA, international standards), and certifications (CSP/CIH/CHMM or equivalent) with excellent communication and autonomy in a fast-paced, high-risk environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in high-risk or industrial environments
- PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive EHS experience in high-risk or industrial environments
- Experience in Human and Organizational Performance philosophy and program implementation
- Advanced degree in safety engineering
- Excellent organizational, presentation, training, and communication skills
- Experience with interpreting, applying, and documenting federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Experience with emergency response communication and incident management
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)
- Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal direction and make sound decisions in the field
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven experience supporting business operations or field-based teams
- Willingness and ability to travel 50%+ domestically and internationally
- Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and international EHS regulations
- Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent) strongly preferred
- If not local to SpaceX site relocation will be necessary.
- Travel Requirement: 50%+ (significant domestic and international travel)
- ITAR REQUIREMENTS: U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
