Sr. Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

Job Summary
Develop and implement general safety policies and procedures ensuring compliance with local, state, regional, and national environmental, health, and safety regulations. Manage reporting and permitting for OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements while overseeing hazardous waste management and environmental compliance activities. Consult with departments on equipment design, fire prevention, and safety programs, then inspect facilities to detect hazards and recommend corrective measures. Train employees in safe workplace practices, participate in accident investigations, and maintain safety files and records. Support new product integration and management of changes projects to optimize a safe working environment.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of US-OSHA and EPA compliance requirements associated with manufacturing operations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build working relationships with individual employees, site leaders, regional EHS team, and site contractors
- Ability to prioritize tasks with a focus on completing tasks in a managed approach with attention to technical accuracy and within established timelines
- Knowledge of incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with new equipment introduction and validation processes; including, User defined criteria, FAT and SAT reviews, PSSR, and other steps to ensure the appropriate review and validation of equipment prior to site operation
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills
- A minimum of (5) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Desired Qualifications
- Education and/or training specific to EHS in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO45001
- RCRA and DOT certification
