Job Summary
Lead the DevSecOps function by building and mentoring a high-performing team while defining the technical roadmap for cloud infrastructure, security, and platform operations. Own the AWS serverless platform by designing scalable infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code, ensuring high availability and cost efficiency. Develop automated CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls including SAST, DAST, and dependency scanning. Drive cloud security, vulnerability management, and compliance for HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC 2 standards. Improve operational excellence through enhanced observability, incident response, and disaster recovery using AWS native services. Enable data and AI platforms by securing infrastructure for large-scale data pipelines and model training. Partner across engineering, data science, and compliance teams to enable secure, reliable, and scalable software delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Security Engineering, including at least 2 years leading technical teams
- Experience building or scaling cloud platforms in a fast-paced startup or high growth environment
- Deep experience designing and operating AWS cloud platforms with serverless architectures
- Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK or Terraform
- Proven experience building secure CI/CD pipelines and embedding security into the software development lifecycle
- Experience implementing cloud security best practices, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and compliance automation
- Strong Python scripting skills for automation and platform tooling
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across Engineering, Security, Compliance, and executive leadership
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting HIPAA, HITRUST, or SOC 2 compliance programs
- Experience building or operating cloud platforms that support large-scale data engineering, AI/ML pipelines, model training and inference workloads
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Security Specialty certification
