Job Summary
Senior Automation Engineer based in Denver will independently lead the design, programming, configuration, testing, and implementation of process automation solutions for large, complex systems (gas plant builds, high-IO-count installations, integrated PLC/HMI/server architectures). You’ll lead capital projects end-to-end, analyze business processes to recommend automation strategies, develop reusable automation scripts and workflows, architect and support DCS/PLC/RTU/HMI architectures, troubleshoot for safety and reliability, conduct technical studies and hazard analyses, lead data integration efforts, support information security measures, produce documentation, lead alarm rationalization, and mentor other engineers while traveling to facilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 5 or more years of relevant automation engineering experience
- Advanced PLC/DCS proficiency
- Advanced control loop tuning and loop health analysis proficiency
- Demonstrated ability to lead and design automation systems independently
- Ability to mentor and lead other engineers/technicians
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel up to 25% to facilities and project sites
- Willingness to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Work safely in industrial environments with large machinery, chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat
- Wear fire retardant clothing and PPE on site
