Sr. Engineer, Photonics Test

Job Summary
Sr. Engineer in the Test Hardware group responsible for defining, developing, implementing, and providing hands-on support for test hardware solutions for Photonics products (SuperNova and TeraPHY). Interfaces with Product Development Engineers, Design Engineers, and Validation Engineers to create test software and equipment delivering trustworthy data. Responsibilities include determining tester configurations, designing module specs with vendors, troubleshooting optical and electrical/test software issues, identifying gaps in test coverage, implementing new tests to improve coverage, optimizing test flows for volume manufacturing, and ensuring test results feed into internal databases. Requires experience with optoelectronic systems, CMOS hardware, bench instrumentation, instrument control programming, statistical analysis, and understanding of semiconductor/optics physics. Preferred MS or PhD with photonics knowledge; Python proficiency; experience in Windows and Linux environments; version control (Git).
Required Qualifications
- BS + 2 years of relevant industry experience in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field
- 2+ years experience testing and characterizing optoelectronic systems and components such as semiconductor lasers, transceivers, waveguides and EDFA's
- Industry or laboratory experience using OSA's, MZM's, DCA's, BER testers, SMU's and polarizers
- Must have knowledge of CMOS hardware and hands-on experience with bench equipment such as Oscilloscope, VI meter, Signal generator and analyzers
- Experience writing and debugging programs for instrument control
- Experience performing statistical analysis
- Needs understanding of semiconductor physics, optics, fiber optics and/or laser physics
