Job Summary
The Senior Engineer I is a fully proficient individual contributor who leads defined engineering efforts and owns technical outcomes for moderately complex products, applying sound design, analysis (FEA/CFD), and standard practices. Responsible for mechanical design, drawings, specifications, and supporting calculations; conducts verification/validation activities and contributes to sustaining improvements. Coordinates with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain, while mentoring junior engineers and driving cross-functional collaboration to meet project milestones and deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university required.
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration preferred.
- Typically 6+ years of progressive engineering experience in manufacturing or durable goods environments.
- Demonstrated ability to independently execute engineering tasks and contribute to project outcomes.
- Solid foundation in mechanical design, materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of engineering analysis methods, including FEA and CFD.
- Proficiency with CAD tools; experience with Creo Parametric preferred.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated initiative in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
